Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a service-focused General Manager for a 30-seat fine dining tasting room opening in San Diego/La Jolla next month. Helmed by a notable, Michelin-decorated Chef, this restaurant will offer guests a tasting menu experience that embodies the Chef’s vision for Californian cuisine. The restaurant will be a celebration of local farms and fishermen, taking only the best ingredients at their peak in seasonality and elevating them through both modern mastery and time-honored techniques. We are seeking a passionate General Manager / Service Director to join an all-star management team and guide our front-of-house staff to achieve and maintain a Michelin-level of service excellence - one that will match the culinary excellence that Chef will bring to the plate.

As General Manager, you will be responsible for designing a unique and memorable guest experience, overseeing the growth and development of our front-of-house team, and ensuring operational excellence. You are thoughtful; you move, think, and do with intention. Your leadership on our starting team will be crucial in shaping our identity and establishing our reputation within the industry. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the hospitality field is preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of previous GM or Service Director experience
  • 2+ years of experience working in a multi-star fine-dining Michelin-rated restaurant
  • Proven track record of building healthy work cultures
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
  • Food Handler’s certification
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
