Job Description
Summary This postiion is part-time (25 hours/week) from 12:30-5:30pm on school days. 10 paid holidays are also included. It begins in August 2025.
The Assistant helps with supervising lunch and rest times, monitors and assists with playground time and develops relationships with the children and families. The Assistant works closely with other CDC staff and helps with other tasks as needed. It is a primarily relational position and requires a willingness and the ability to interact closely and through developmentally appropriate activities with children and their families.
Duties 1. Prepares materials for learning centers as requested by teachers including cutting, pasting, copying, and compiling items.
2. Monitors children within the facility and the playground to ensure safety. Supervises rest time.
3. Leads a daily storytime for a classroom of children.
4. Attends staff meetings twice a month and completes 15 hours of approved professional development activities or courses each year.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Daily contacts with parents to exchange information and explain rules, practices or functions.
- Responsibility for Final Decisions:
- Responsible for own work. May assist others doing similar work.
- Tasks involve multiple procedures with interrelated processes or steps. Work involves choosing the appropriate option or procedure to follow and applying established rules and procedures.
- Errors are readily detected in the normal course of work by standard check or crosscheck.
Reports To: CDC Director
Work is performed independently on routine work, non-routine issues or questions are referred to the supervisor.
Requirements - High School graduate.
- Experience in preschool setting.
- Ability to understand and use age appropriate activities and communication.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills.
Work requires:
* Staying on-site during hours of employment.
* Schedule: Monday-Friday from 12:30-5:30pm.
