Shift Type/Shift Times/Hours/Day: Days, 8

Shift Notes: 6:45A 3:15P (8 Hour Days) // 4*8's followed by 5*8's (32 Hour Guarantee)

Weekend Requirements: 1 weekend per 4-week schedule

On-Call Requirements: 1 Night call per week and 1 weekend per 4-week schedule

Traveler Policy: Candidates' Permanent Address (Facility will not consider local candidates - 100-mile radius restriction)

Dress Code: Hospital-Provided Scrubs

This individual fills the role of surgical technologist in the Operating Room. Surgical Technologist I understands and demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures. Assure all supplies and equipment are available for the procedure and in working condition. Confirms and/or assembles sterile instruments for use correctly. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon. They assist in keeping an accurate account of medications, sharps, instruments, and sponges. They are responsible for maintaining and monitoring the sterile field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• (30%)* Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and ability to problem solve about the procedure being performed. Verifies items on the physician preference card. Accountable for supplies so that accurate patient charges are billed.
• (30%)* Demonstrates proper use of equipment, assembling of equipment, disposables, as well as cleaning and sterilizing. Ensures all equipment, supplies, and instruments are assembled correctly and in working condition for the surgical procedure.
• (30%)* Maintains the sterile environments. Monitors the sterile field and recognizes breaks in technique.
• (10%)* Sets up sterile field with instruments in a timely manner. Keeps accurate account of all medications, sponges, instruments and sharps on the sterile fields per policy.

Submission Requirements

• 3+ Years of experience - Required
• Experience with Ortho, Sports Medicine, OB/GYN, Ophthalmic, and Urology - Required
• Travel Experience - Highly Preferred
• NBSTSA, BLS (AHA) - Required
