Heavy Truck Mechanic – Bryan, TX
A leading construction and infrastructure enterprise
is actively seeking a skilled
Heavy Truck Mechanic
to join its team in Bryan, Texas. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about keeping heavy-duty vehicles and equipment running safely and efficiently.
You’ll be working on a diverse fleet that includes
ready-mix trucks, dump trucks, tractors, and pneumatic trailers , supporting operations that help build communities across the region.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of
heavy diesel trucks and trailers .
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, suspension, and brake systems.
Use technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to guide complex repairs.
Communicate with drivers and team leads regarding vehicle condition reports and repair updates.
Operate tools and equipment including welders, hoists, and lifting devices in a safe, responsible manner.
Maintain organized workspaces and accurately document all maintenance activities.
Perform oil changes, transmission repairs, brake work, suspension adjustments, and other general maintenance.
Travel to field locations as needed using company-provided service vehicles.
Ensure full compliance with
DOT, OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and company safety standards .
Participate in a team-focused environment, assisting others and maintaining a professional, respectful attitude.
Complete other mechanical duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience maintaining and repairing
heavy diesel trucks and trailers .
Technical school certification or relevant trade training is preferred.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
Own set of hand tools, air tools, and select specialty tools.
Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and overtime.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and climb in and out of trucks and equipment regularly.
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
Regular walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
Ability to grasp tools and perform fine manual work.
Exposure to outdoor elements, high-traffic shop areas, fumes, and changing weather conditions.
Use of required
PPE
per safety protocols.
