Private Family in West Village NYC is looking to hire a private Housekeeper.

• Position: Part Time 30 hours a week
• Schedule: Tues and Thursdays preferred. Flexible on other days. 30 hours/ week
• Salary: W2, $35-$42 hour, 3-4 weeks PTO, holidays off

About the Family

A warm and welcoming family with a seasonal residence is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeper to care for their home. This residence is not the family’s primary home and may remain unoccupied for up to six months at a time. During the summer and fall, the family typically visits once or twice per week, while their main residence is located in Miami. The ideal candidate will be skilled in the care of fine linens and wardrobe management, with particular attention to the Mr.’s collection of suits, which are carefully catalogued and organized. While the suits are professionally dry-cleaned, the family is seeking someone with the expertise to press them in-house as needed. In addition to housekeeping duties, the Housekeeper will oversee and coordinate with vendors during ongoing home renovations, including providing access to contractors, monitoring progress, and managing light clean-up such as daily dust removal. This position requires someone proactive, reliable, and discreet, with strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain the home to the highest standards even during extended periods of vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the home in pristine condition year-round, including during long periods of vacancy.
• Provide detailed housekeeping, ensuring all rooms and surfaces are cleaned, organized, and guest-ready.
• Care for fine linens and garments, including laundering, steaming, and pressing as needed.
• Manage and organize the Mr.’s wardrobe, including maintaining the catalogue of suits and ensuring garments are ready for wear.
• Coordinate with and oversee vendors and contractors during home renovations, including granting access, monitoring work, and ensuring proper clean-up.
• Perform light daily clean-up related to renovation activity, including dust removal.
• Proactively identify household needs and address them with minimal supervision or report to Assistant if needed.
• Communicate regularly with the family or estate manager regarding household updates and ongoing projects.
• Uphold discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.

Requirements
