Job Description:
Reporting to the HR Director, the Recruiter will be responsible for acquisition and retention of talent at all skill levels and positions from entry level to management for multiple Meyer Tool locations. Working with supervisors, will forecast upcoming staffing needs and implement the most successful means of fulfilling these positions. Will work with various industry, education, and workforce development partners to obtain the most highly qualified talent for the company, while positively promoting Meyer Tool and careers in manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities:
Acquire the most qualified candidates for open positions in the company
Working with Supervisors, develop and implement recruitment plans and strategies to fulfill company’s staffing needs
Maintain an ongoing understanding of the company’s organizational structure, company policies, state and federal employment laws and best practices
Develop and maintain an established network of contacts, resources, and methods to acquire quality talent
Determine best sources and outlets for job postings
Perform various analyses of industry employment and compensation trends to ensure MTI stays current and competitive in talent acquisition and retention
Work with industry partners, educators, and workforce development groups to create a more robust candidate pool to fill an ever-increasing pipeline, including but not limited to:
Universities :
Working with Management, develop and foster successful co-op programs with local universities
Work with universities in acquiring talent for degree required positions
Technical/Trade Schools :
Cultivate relationships with schools to develop programs/courses beneficial to the company and industry
Develop successful apprenticeship program
Work toward recruiting qualified candidates who are trained and certified in manufacturing
Work with employees and supervisors on continuing education opportunities
High Schools :
Cultivate current and new relationships with high schools to implement and coordinate machining Co-Op opportunities
Work with schools/Career Counselors to increase awareness and perception of manufacturing careers by reaching students and parents
Coordinate and conduct tours and job shadowing to introduce students, parents, and counselors to manufacturing and MTI
Community Partners and Workforce Development groups :
Attend and participate in strategic planning meetings, symposiums and seminars to develop action plans for talent acquisition
Attend career fairs, school events, awards ceremonies, and other events to promote MTI and its relationships in the community and industry
Provide HR Director with monthly reports and graphs
Perform all other duties as assigned or required
Requirements:
Must have 4+ years of recruiting experience in manufacturing machining industry (Aerospace preferred)
Must meet the ITAR definition of US Person(s)
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Lesser degree with 6+ years of recruiting experience in the manufacturing field will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
Must have excellent presentation skills
Knowledge of labor laws and policies and knowledge of Affirmative Action requirements
Experience with Co-Op, Internship, and Apprenticeship programs
Willingness to quickly learn company’s manufacturing processes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent computer skills; Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Excellent Excel knowledge within the Microsoft Office application
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Ability to work with various departments and team members
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Ability to represent MTI in a professional, relatable and courteous manner
Ability to attend functions and events outside of office hours
Must be organized and able to multi-task
Ability to travel locally and regionally on a regular basis, as well as out of state
Valid driver’s license and insurance
Ability to work as part of a team and cooperatively with HR staff
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive HR information
Must display resourcefulness and initiative and be self-motivated
MTI is a safety sensitive manufacturer. As such, successful results of pre-employment drug testing will be required.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate. Work in office environment and use of computer (typical 2-button scroll mouse, and keyboard - 85% of the work day). Employee will be required to travel by both auto and airplane, which may include long periods of sitting. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment may be loud at times. Must be able to use required PPE. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
