Position Summary
The After School Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the after school program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for youth participants ages 13-22. This role requires a compassionate leader who thrives in a team setting, has experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and is passionate about making a difference in their lives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop & supervise daily after school program activities and ensure alignment with Mychal’s Learning Place mission and values.
Provide direct supervision, guidance, and mentorship to program participants.
Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, including academics, arts, life skills, and recreational programming.
Collaborate with parents/guardians, school personnel, and staff to support participants’ goals and needs.
Supervise and support program staff, interns, and volunteers, including scheduling, training, and performance feedback.
Maintain accurate attendance, incident, and progress reports.
Ensure all safety, health, and organizational policies and procedures are followed.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment for youth and staff.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and community events.
Support fundraising, special events, or outreach efforts as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field preferred)
2+ years of experience working with youth or individuals with developmental disabilities
Supervisory or leadership experience in a youth program or educational setting
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Background check clearance
Preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language)
Knowledge of disability rights, special education, or inclusion practices
Familiarity with trauma-informed care and behavior support strategies
Salary: Dependent upon experience
